Dr. Palmer is committed to service that enhances her community and professional field. She tries to be of service whenever she can. This can be challenging with family and work commitments but it is rewarding. In April 2018, her extensive and quality participation in service was recognized by the College of Health and Human Services with the Outstanding Junior Service Award.
Every year in the College of Health and Human Services select faculty are nominated for outstanding work in any of the following areas: Teaching, Research, and Service. She was nominated by a colleague and awarded the Junior Service Award. The Junior Service award is given to a faculty member with 5 years or less experience that has demonstrated excellence in the quality and length of their service.
